Archetypes and your Sacred Contract
We have all been born to fulfil a sacred contract this lifetime.  It is part of your purpose in life.  Work with Pauline and all will become clear.

To help you understand and fulfil the terms of your Sacred Contract, you have been encoded and born with a set of 12 primary archetypes. 

Four of these we all have which relate to survival: the child, victim, prostitute and saboteur.  They are all vital to our growth and functioning as adults.  The other 8 are drawn from the vast number of archetypes dating back to the beginning of time.   They play valuable roles that relate to our work, our relationships with individuals and society, as well as our spirituality, finances, values and our highest potential.

You never lose your archetypes and  they do affect the way you deal with situations in life.   However, once you realise which archetype is coming into play in a particular circumstance you can deal with it.  You then use the positive side of the archetype rather than the negative.

History
The term Archetypes dates back at least to the time of Plato and then Carl Jung, the Swiss Psychologist, developed the idea further. It is now very much a core part of the world-wide teachings of Caroline Myss, Ph.D. 

Along with our individual personal unconscious, which is unique to each of us, there exists a second psychic system of the collective unconscious.  This is inherited rather than developed and is composed mainly of archetypes.  Although Archetypes are ancient, impersonal patterns of influence, they become personalised when they are a part of your individual psyche.

Your chosen 12 Archetypes  are your companions and provide the foundation for your personality, drives, feelings, beliefs, motivations and actions.  They take an active role as guardians and allies, alerting you to the dangers of falling into destructive or shadow behaviour.   For instance, The Saboteur, warns you when you are in a situation in which you tend to sabotage your own best interests.  Once you learn to recognise such a pattern, instead of ignoring it or denying its presence, it becomes your friend and can help you avoid selling out.

All Archetypes have positive and shadow aspects. Only when we face and acknowledge the shadow’s presence can we neutralise its potential negative impact on us. 

For example the Queen archetype can help you assert your power, take charge, delegate authority and act with benevolence.  But the shadow Queen may shout out orders, make impossible demands.  Once you learn to recognise the differences between the two responses. and their common source, you can harness the Queen’s constructive power while mitigating the shadow side.  

Action
